UJEB Program Update Term 3, 2020

Dear UJEB families,

I hope this finds you all happy, well and enjoying the break so far with the kids.

I am sure that many of you will now have heard the latest news from the Premier Daniel Andrews. Sadly, as virus data has worsened, a decision has been made to return to stage 3 restrictions. For schools, this means the Victorian school holidays have been extended for another week for students from Foundation to Year 10.

Although seemingly an interim decision, with another announcement regarding schools due next week, UJEB has prepared for the likelihood of face-to-face learning restrictions to continue for the 6 weeks of term 3.

For UJEB that means that we will continue to provide online lessons for at least the first 5 weeks of term starting from the week of 20 July.

All before school programs will be from 8:00am – 8:45am.

All after school programs will be from 4:00pm – 4:45 pm.

All term 2 discounts have been applied to term 3.

Our high school programs, including Bar Mitzvah, Bat Mitzvah, J-Lunch, BBYO and the Israel program will receive separate communications

Our coordinators and teachers have been working tirelessly to assess and improve online classes and are excited to continue to learn with your children.

YOUR SUPPORT NOW IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER

  • It teaches your children the value of Jewish education.
  • It allows your children to learn our language and our culture.
  • It ensures that UJEB can continue to provide it’s valuable services to our community.

Please, if you haven’t already done so ENROL now for term 3. (Enrolment guide)

Myself and the UJEB staff will be working remotely and can be contacted by the usual methods, phone and email. The UJEB office at Beth Weizmann Community Centre will be closed.

Sadly, this is another bump in the road for Victoria, for so many vulnerable people and for us at UJEB. Thankfully, the holidays have meant significant preparation for the term ahead and we are ready to continue learning!

Together, our community worked through the challenge of last term so positively. Together we will handle whatever the world throws our way in the coming weeks. I will communicate with you regularly to ensure that you have up-to-date information as we respond to changes.

Take care, stay positive.

Warm regards,

Itzik Sztokman, Executive Principal
