Experiences

UJEB offers a school holiday camp, as well as a trip to Israel for year 10 students and other shabbatonim and retreats.

UJEB Camp

Our annual camp brings together UJEB’s extended community for a long weekend of informal Jewish learning, outdoor activities, Shabbat and plenty of ruach!

Whether you’re a UJEB regular or have never tried a program before, camp is the perfect opportunity to make friends with other Jewish students from all over Melbourne, celebrate Shabbat camp style and connect to Judaism in a way that’s adventurous, fun, meaningful and individually tailored.

Run by our fully trained staff of vibrant youth leaders, this camp is for students in years 3-12 (8-18 years old).

Enrolment for UJEB Camp 2023 will be opening shortly!

Israel Program: Nesiah

Our Israel Program is called “Nesiah” meaning journey or experience.

This program is run in partnership with the NSW Board of Jewish Education (BJE) and is specifically designed for year 10 students at non-Jewish schools. It brings together year 10 students from all over Australia for an immersive 5-6 week experience in December / January. The students learn about our homeland, religion, people, culture and history, while traveling the country from top to bottom. Along the way they have many unique experiences, create lifelong friendships and develop a strong connection to our homeland.

Things to know:

  • UJEB invites students from Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia to participate in Nesiah

  • Students must be in Year 10 in a non-Jewish school and have at least one Jewish parent to be eligible

  • The Information Session for parents and students take place in March/April of the same year as the trip.

  • If you would like to stay in touch and hear more about the program, you can register your interest by completing the form with your contact details, your child’s name, the year level they are currently in and their school and we will contact you. You can register interest for your child if they are in Years 8, 9 or 10.

If your student is at a non-Jewish school and missed the UJEB Year 10 Israel trip in 2020 and 2021 due to covid, they should consider the 5 week Year 13 Yalla Israel program taking place in January or July in the year after they graduate from High School.
