UJEB set to receive support from the Government for SRI classes

UJEB WELCOMES COALITION’S COMMITMENT TO SPECIAL RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION (SRI)
UJEB welcomes the Coalition’s promise of commitment for the Special Religious Instruction (SRI) Program, should it be returned to government after Election day.
Member for Caulfield, David Southwick MP, in a letter to UJEB wrote that the “Victorian Coalition remains committed to supporting the SRI program.”
The Coalition also pledged $300,000 to UJEB for financial support for curriculum and associated resources over five years.
“UJEB welcomes this strong commitment to maintaining the SRI program, ” Board Member Jeremy Leibler said today. “David Southwick has worked passionately on this issue, for which we are grateful.” Mr Leibler also said he was seeking advice from the ALP as to their policy on SRI.
