The JSN camp has fast become an annual tradition with Jewish students from all over Melbourne attending the JSN camp in Gippsland in August.
The participants are provided with the opportunity to experience a Shabbat weekend with a group of friends together with trained youth leaders to entertain them.
If you are interested in attending the next camp, or just want some more information so that you can decide, you should add your name to our mailing list by sending an email: jsn@ujeb.org.au The Jewish Student Network camp is on the 1 - 3 August 2008. JSN camp details here. UJEB camp details here.
Thirty eight secondary students from non–Jewish schools departed from the bus on Sunday evening exhausted but elated after taking part in the Annual Pratt Foundation Jewish Student Network Camp on the Mornington Peninsula.
United Jewish Education Board runs the Pratt Foundation Jewish Student Network which conducts informal programs for secondary students who do not attend Jewish day schools.
As well as having an opportunity to meet other students and make new friends from other schools, participants gained an understanding of their heritage and culture through many varied activities and relevant discussions.
Students experienced a traditional Shabbat atmosphere and encountered the various customs and practices.
The weekend was organised and run by Jess Braitberg, the JSN Coordinator along with her team of youth movement and AUJS madrichim (leaders) who are dedicated to Jewish education and Zionism.
